Make a strip of tile, then mark out points on both edges to draw the size triangles you want.
In this example, I’ve made triangles 30mm at the base & 25mm high. Obviously you need to offset the markings on one edge – you want triangles – not squares!Join up your markings setting out your triangles.
Strip should look like this prior to cutting.
For the cleanest cuts, begin by cutting down one side of the apex as shown. If you don’t do this, instead cutting all the way through, you’l find that you lose a small chip as you get to the other side – most frustrating if you were looking for perfect shapes!
Your strip will look like this when you’ve completed the first series of cuts.
Now, working on the same apex of the triangle, make a second series of cuts down the other side.
Your strip will look like this once you’ve made the two series of cuts.
Now starting from the opposite edge, cut your triangles out as shown.
Obviously, do your best to meet the cuts for a perfect edge. This is your finished product! |
