Artist comment: “King Parrot Dreaming” was a commission for installation by a lap pool.

Customer indicated that she liked King Parrots, waterlillies and bright colours. What a great combination! The design was conceived quickly and I knew from the start it was going to be a beautiful piece.

The mural represents our local landscape through the eyes of a King Parrot – ponds, forest, streams and even the beach. It wasn’t difficult to inject vibrant colour into the work and I wanted to use a diversity of laying styles to match the diversity of landscapes in this area. The beautiful hardwood frame that the customer had built to house the mural worked perfectly & the backdrop of lush rainforest plants further enhances the work.
