The Stone of Tizoc was created by the Aztecs. Carved out of basalt, it is thought to be a sacrificial stone.

After interpreting the Aztec Sunstone i felt motivated to find some more ancient carvings to colour in mosaic – a theme I may not be done with just yet.

The mosaic itself is perhaps my most detailed yet – with much etching with a dremel and die grinder and I’ve also introduced some acrylic paint for my first time. Quite few hand made tiles too.
